Actress Rita Daniela has spoken publicly for the first time since filing a complaint against fellow actor Archie Alemania, accusing him of acts of lasciviousness.
The complaint was lodged on October 30, 2024, at the Bacoor City Prosecutor’s Office. According to Rita, the alleged incident occurred during a thanksgiving party for their show ‘Widows’ War,’ hosted by co-star Bea Alonzo on September 9, 2024. Initially, both Rita and Archie refrained from commenting on the matter, but Rita has now shared her experience in an interview with ’24 Oras’ Nelson Canlas on November 11.
Rita opened up about the emotional toll the situation has taken on her, emphasizing her commitment to staying strong for her one-year-old son, Uno. “I’m really trying my best to be okay because I have to,” she said. “I have to be okay. I have no choice because, siyempre, there’s a person who is depending on me.”
She revealed that she has started therapy to help her process the experience, explaining, “There are days na hindi ko din napipigilan, bumibigay ako bilang tao. I am trying my best and starting to have counselling and therapy… so anything that I can do to really help myself to move forward, and be stronger and braver than ever.”
Rita expressed gratitude for the support she has received, especially from women who have commended her for her courage. “There are women na talagang lumalapit sa akin and they would just commend yung nangyari… And they’ve been telling me personally, ‘Hey, I like what you did. You’re so brave. I hope I can be like that for myself before’,’” she shared.
Filing the complaint, Rita explained, was a thoughtful decision. “It took me a while talaga to do this, kung anuman ang ginawa ko, kasi talagang maliban sa pagdadasal, kailangan din na pagninilay-nilayan mo lahat,” she said, noting that it wasn’t a choice made lightly.
Despite the controversy, Rita has remained active on social media, focusing on her career and continuing to engage with her followers.
On the other hand, Archie Alemania has not publicly addressed the complaint or commented on the incident on his social media accounts. However, showbiz personality Cristy Fermin stated on her online show ‘Showbiz Now Na’ that she spoke with Archie, who reportedly denied the allegations and expressed surprise over the complaint. According to Fermin, Archie plans to contest the accusations.
