Internet sensation Boss Toyo is making his television debut in the third season of ‘Walang Matigas na Pulis sa Matinik na Misis’, starring Senator Bong Revilla Jr.
The announcement came during the show’s media conference on December 14 at Novotel Hotel, Quezon City, where Boss Toyo revealed he had previously declined offers from other prominent action stars.
The social media personality shared that he had been approached to appear in major TV shows, including Coco Martin’s ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’, Ruru Madrid’s ‘Black Rider’, and Miguel Tanfelix’s ‘Mga Batang Riles’.
“Opo, natanggihan ko po, tulad ng ‘Batang Quiapo’, ‘Mga Batang Riles’, ‘Black Rider’. Kasi po maraming taping days, at hindi ko pa kaya noong time na
yon na regular ang mga taping days,” Boss Toyo explained.
When the opportunity to work with Senator Bong Revilla Jr. arose, Boss Toyo couldn’t resist.
“Dito kasi whole day lang, kaya grinab ko ang opportunity na makalabas sa telebisyon. At saka, kalugar ko kasi si Sen. Bong. Tapos, maganda nga ang schedule na binigay nila sa akin. Kung ano ang free time ko, ‘yun ang schedule ko, binigay nila,” he shared.
The decision paid off, as Boss Toyo described his first acting experience as fun and fulfilling.
“Ang saya ng experience ko. May konting action, may comedy rin. At na-amaze ako sa mga kasama ko sa set. Sabi ko nga, ganun pala talaga ang mga artista, ang gagaling. Iba ang pakiramdam ‘pag umaarte na,” he said.
“Hindi ako nag-workshop. Kasi ang role ko naman ay as Boss Toyo rin. Depende po talaga, kung mabibigyan pa ng pagkakataon, at kung kaya rin naman ng schedule natin. Pero sobrang nag-enjoy po ako.”
Despite being a newcomer, Boss Toyo expressed gratitude to the production team and his co-stars for making him feel at ease on set.
“Si Sen. Bong, sobrang bait. Ang mga direktor, tulad ni Direk Enzo Williams, alagang-alaga ako. Maraming salamat talaga sa magandang experience na pinaramdam nila sa akin. Pero, na-starstruck po talaga ako sa kanila, sa mga nakasama kong artista. Dati kasi napapanood ko lang sila, pero ngayon nakakasama ko na sila. Ang daming mga tao na noon na nakikita ko lang sa TV, nababasa ko lang sa diario, ngayon nakakasama ko na. Masaya po.”
When asked if he plans to pursue a full-time acting career, Boss Toyo remained open-minded.
Looking to the future, Boss Toyo revealed he hopes to work with Vic Sotto and Ina Raymundo in upcoming projects.
‘Walang Matigas na Pulis sa Matinik na Misis’ Season 3, an action-comedy series, is set to premiere on December 22 on GMA Network.
The show features Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. and Beauty Gonzalez as Bartolome “Tolome” and Gloria Reynaldo, alongside an ensemble cast that includes Carmi Martin, Jestoni Alarcon, Liezel Lopez, Nino Muhlach, Maey Bautista, Raphael Landicho, Jeffrey Tam, Leo Martinez, Joko Diaz, and Boss Toyo.
