Kapuso host and ‘Unang Hirit’ weather presenter Anjo Pertierra has opened up about an unpleasant experience early in his career where he felt belittled by a former colleague.
In a recent guest appearance on GTV’s ‘Lutong Bahay’, hosted by Mikee Quintos, Anjo recounted how he sensed his colleague’s condescending attitude towards him during one of his first jobs in the broadcasting industry.
“‘Yun ‘yung time na nagsisimula pa lang ako. Nangmamata siya to the point na nakita ko na may binubulungan siyang katabi niya na parang nakatingin siya sa amin,” Anjo recalled.
The revelation surprised Mikee, who expressed disbelief at how Anjo had been treated.
Anjo admitted that he did not fully understand the motive behind his colleague’s behavior but emphasized that he decided not to take it personally.
“Ramdam ko talaga ‘yung panghuhusga kahit hindi pa naman niya ako kilala,” he said. Despite the situation, Anjo opted to extend understanding, saying, “Baka lang masama ‘yung araw niya.”
When Mikee asked why he thought the person acted that way, Anjo responded, “Hindi ko alam, e,” choosing not to speculate further or name the individual involved.
Despite the challenges he faced, Anjo Pertierra persevered and has since become a recognizable face on GMA Network’s ‘Unang Hirit’. His hosting skills and charisma have made him a fan favorite.
Before his rise in broadcasting, Anjo was known for his athletic prowess, excelling in basketball and volleyball. His experience in overcoming difficulties on and off the court has translated into a strong sense of professionalism in his career.
