Kapuso stars Barbie Forteza and Jak Roberto have called it quits after seven years of being one of the most beloved couples in Philippine showbiz.
On January 2, Barbie confirmed the breakup through a heartfelt post on her Instagram account. Accompanying the announcement were photos of her and Jak, capturing moments from their time together.
Quoting Dr. Seuss, Barbie began her post with a poignant note: “Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.”
She expressed gratitude for their years together, describing their relationship as filled with joy and love.
“Having you in my life was the happiest I had ever been. Seven wonderful years. A lot of laughs, a lot of ramen, and so much love. Your love was exceptional,” she shared.
Barbie reflected on the nature of their split, hinting at growth and new beginnings: “Sometimes, good things fall apart so better things can come together. Beautiful goodbye, @jakroberto,” she added.
The actress also extended her thanks to Jak for the love and support he had shown her during their time as a couple. “Thank you for loving me the way you did. I am excited for what’s to come for the both of us. You take care of yourself. May you find the love you deserve,” she wrote.
Barbie concluded her message by asking for understanding and privacy regarding their breakup.
Jak Roberto, for his part, has not issued any statement about the breakup. His last Instagram post, dated January 1, showed him cheerfully celebrating the New Year. On December 3, he shared a photo with Barbie from his birthday celebration, captioning it: “My loving supportive Madam.”
