GMA Network delighted fans of real-life couple Dennis Trillo and Jennylyn Mercado with the announcement of their reunion project.
After nearly a decade, the pair will headline the new teleserye ‘Sanggang Dikit’, revealed during the New Year celebration at SM Mall of Asia, which coincided with the kickoff of GMA Network’s 75th-anniversary festivities.
Set against the backdrop of political intrigue and personal rivalries, ‘Sanggang Dikit’ is a high-octane action-drama inspired by the energy and style of 80s action films. Viewers can expect explosive stunts, intense gunfights, and captivating storylines featuring Dennis Trillo, the Kapuso Drama King, and Ultimate Star Jennylyn Mercado.
This marks their first teleserye together since ‘My Faithful Husband’ in 2015.
The real-life couple begins the year on a high note. Dennis recently won Best Actor at the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) for his powerful performance in ‘Green Bones’. Meanwhile, Jennylyn is set to renew her contract with GMA Network this January, confirming her status as a loyal Kapuso star.
The couple also appeared together in the GMA Network Christmas Station ID, further solidifying their connection with the network.
In addition to ‘Sanggang Dikit’, Dennis and Jennylyn are also starring in the upcoming romantic comedy film ‘Everything About My Wife’, adding to their list of exciting projects for the year.
After showcasing his dramatic range in ‘Green Bones’, Dennis shifts gears with ‘Everything About My Wife’, portraying Dom, a husband grappling with the reality of married life. Jennylyn, returning to her rom-com roots, plays Imo, a wife who constantly nags her husband about everything—from household messes to slow internet.
The film promises a humorous yet heartfelt take on the ups and downs of married life, highlighting the couple’s versatility and chemistry on-screen.
