Actress Heaven Peralejo admitted to feeling uneasy upon reuniting with ex-boyfriend Kiko Estrada on the set of the television adaptation of ‘Lumuhod Ka sa Lupa’, where Kiko plays the lead role.
The series recently introduced Heaven and her current boyfriend, Marco Gallo, as part of the cast, making the work environment even more interesting for fans.
During an interview, Heaven acknowledged that while they remain professional, their past relationship made the situation slightly uncomfortable.
“Of course, may ilangan, pero as actors, we have to set that aside and focus on our roles,” she said.
Heaven also confirmed that she and Kiko never rekindled their friendship after their highly publicized breakup in 2021.
Peralejo first gained public recognition as a housemate in ‘Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky 7’ in 2016, where she shared the stage with Marco Gallo, Maymay Entrata, and Edward Barber.
Before dating Kiko, she was in a relationship with Jimuel Pacquiao, the eldest son of boxing icon Manny Pacquiao. However, their relationship ended, with both parties citing that they were still too young for a serious commitment.
Interestingly, Heaven and Marco had shown interest in each other during their time in ‘Pinoy Big Brother’, but their connection did not flourish at the time. Heaven eventually exited the show to care for her mother, who was undergoing cancer treatment.
Meanwhile, Marco briefly dated Juliana Gomez, daughter of Richard Gomez and Lucy Torres-Gomez, before temporarily stepping away from showbiz and returning to Italy. After six months, he made a comeback, and fate brought him and Heaven back together under Viva Artists Agency (VAA).
Under Viva, Heaven and Marco formed one of the most promising love teams, starring in multiple projects such as: ‘The Rain in España Safe Skies: Archer’, ‘Chasing in the Wild’, ‘For the Love: Kahit Kailan’, and ‘The Ship Show’ and ‘Men Are from QC, Women Are from Alabang’.
Despite their successful partnership, both actors also pursue individual projects.
Heaven’s acting skills were highly praised when she starred in the 2022 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry Nanahimik ang Gabi alongside Ian Veneracion and Mon Confiado. Her performance earned her multiple Best Actress nominations, including one from the Asian Academy Creative Awards.
Since signing with Viva in 2023, her career has flourished, with her most notable role in the hit primetime drama ‘Linlang’, starring Kim Chiu, Paulo Avelino, Maricel Soriano, and JM de Guzman. In 2024, she was also named Ginebra San Miguel’s Calendar Girl and starred in the Philippine adaptation of the Korean film ‘Sunny’ with Vina Morales, Angelu de Leon, and Bea Binene.
