Social media personality Jam Villanueva, former girlfriend of actor Anthony Jennings, addressed comments about the declining number of her social media followers, asserting that she remains unbothered by online validation.
In an Instagram Story, a netizen pointed out that her follower count had surged due to previous controversies but was now gradually decreasing.
“I saw na pabawas nang pabawas ang followers mo. Nag-increase lang dahil sa issue. How will you increase it now?” the netizen asked.
Villanueva, however, made it clear that her self-worth is not tied to social media metrics.
“My world is not revolving around it naman, but I am thankful for those who still stay and show support,” she replied.
She also took the opportunity to remind her followers that external validation should not define a person’s value.
“Reminder na din that our personal worth and self-value should not be dependent sa external validation or the opinions of others,” she added.
According to Villanueva, true confidence and fulfillment come from self-awareness and authenticity, rather than chasing approval from others.
“Importante din to understand and know yourself, your values, and your purpose. Kasi true fulfillment and confidence naman come from within, not from seeking approval from others. Pag may strong sense of self ka, you can just be authentic and go through life without feeling like you have to follow or live up to others’ expectations.”
In a separate Q&A session on Instagram, Villanueva responded to a follower’s question about a prominent scar on her chest, which she referred to as her “battle scar.”
She revealed that the 8-inch scar was the result of a heart surgery she underwent in the past.
“That 8-inch scar is a symbol of my strength. I’ve been through heart surgery before, and battle scar ko ‘yan but it is something I wear with pride,” she shared, alongside a photo of the scar.
For Villanueva, the mark serves as a daily reminder of survival and resilience.
“Constant reminder ko din every day that I survived, and nothing in life can keep me down. Life gave me a second chance, and though ang dami na din pinagdaanan along the way, it made me stronger naman. And I’m still standing strong, fully aware and grounded in the reality of life.”
She also reflected on the importance of time and cherishing every moment.
“Also has been my reminder to become aware of the value of time. Kasi it is something we can’t get back. Every moment matters, and natutunan ko din to spend it on things and people that truly matter, kasi time is the one thing we’ll never have enough of.”
Despite her past relationship with Anthony Jennings keeping her in the spotlight, Villanueva remains focused on personal growth, resilience, and self-acceptance, choosing to rise above social media scrutiny and negativity.
