Veteran singer Jessa Zaragoza is currently recovering from a severe case of influenza, which she described as one of the worst illnesses she has ever experienced.

In an Instagram post on February 13, the Phenomenal Diva detailed how her health began to decline on January 22, yet she continued to fulfill her work commitments despite feeling unwell.
Initially diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection, Zaragoza managed to push through her engagements with the help of prescribed antibiotics.
“By Jan. 24, I had completely lost my voice. The diagnosis was an upper respiratory infection, which, as you all might know, is pretty common lately. I was prescribed antibiotics for it, and they kicked in just in time for me to do the Vehnee Saturno show on the 31st,” she shared.
Thinking she was on the road to recovery, the singer was surprised when her symptoms worsened instead.
“More symptoms came popping in left and right—sore skin, body aches. I was thinking it might be a UTI, but the tests concluded otherwise,” she explained.
A persistent dry cough and on-and-off fever followed, causing her condition to deteriorate further.
Zaragoza admitted that this was unlike any flu she had experienced before.
“Before I knew it, I contracted a full-blown flu with every symptom you can imagine, like I’d never experienced before through all my years of adulthood,” she wrote.
The singer, known for her hit song ‘Bakit Pa?’, even joked that the experience had her singing one of her own lyrics:
“And yes, napakanta na talaga ako ng ‘Parang Di Ko Yata Kaya’ habang naiiyak ako kaka-ubo (with a cough so bad I could literally feel my gums hurt),” she added.
After weeks of battling the flu, Zaragoza expressed gratitude to her family, friends, and fans for their unwavering support. She also reminded everyone to prioritize their health and well-being.

“Let’s all take this as a lesson to listen to your body and its needs. We only have one, so we best take care of it. Do it for both yourself and your loved ones around you. Health is wealth after all.”
Her post was flooded with messages from fans and fellow artists, wishing her a speedy recovery.
Medical experts have warned of an increase in flu cases during the respiratory virus season, which typically peaks between October and February. Health professionals strongly advise proper rest, hydration, and seeking medical attention for those experiencing flu symptoms.
