Champion surfer Philmar Alipayo has confirmed that he and his fiancée, Andi Eigenmann, have resolved the issues that recently sparked rumors of a breakup.
The controversy, which involved Alipayo’s matching tattoo with his Swedish friend, Pernilla Sjoö, led to intense public speculation about their relationship.
Through a Facebook post on Monday, Alipayo announced that he and Eigenmann are now on good terms after a private discussion. The post was accompanied by a video showing Andi with their daughter, Lilo, and Philmar carrying their youngest son, Koa.
“It all went way too far and should have been handled in private,” he wrote, adding, “Ok na kami sanan ok ra kami (We’re okay now, hope we’re really fine).”
Alipayo’s post received mixed reactions from netizens. Some fans advised him to be more mindful of his actions in the future to avoid hurting Eigenmann.
Alipayo responded to the support by expressing gratitude: “Love love brother ko… amping pud kamo permi sa imo fam (Take care of your family as well).”
Before Alipayo’s post, Eigenmann took to Instagram to share her thoughts on the controversy. She clarified that her husband did not cheat on her but expressed disappointment over her friend’s betrayal. The issue stemmed from her friend encouraging Alipayo to get a couple’s tattoo without informing her.
“I am fully aware that my husband never cheated on me with this girl. I am always around when they are together,” Eigenmann explained.
She added, “I posted because this person betrayed me, encourages my husband to break up with me during every fight… She inserted herself by encouraging him to get a spontaneous love couple tattoo together.”
Eigenmann said she reached out to the friend for an explanation but was met with silence.
“Yes, I am hurt that my husband didn’t think this would bother me. I’m not being dumb and ignoring that. But the post was to show that no normal person with good intentions would think it’s okay for a friend to encourage someone else’s husband to do this without considering the partner’s feelings,” she stressed.
The drama escalated after eagle-eyed netizens noticed Alipayo and Sjoö’s matching tattoos, leading to allegations of a third party. Eigenmann’s cryptic social media posts about “betrayal” fueled the rumors, prompting both supporters and critics to share their opinions online.
Despite the public fallout, Eigenmann clarified that she remains committed to working through the challenges with Alipayo, emphasizing that he is her family.
With their reconciliation now confirmed, many fans are relieved to see the couple working things out. Eigenmann and Alipayo, who have been engaged since 2020, share two children, Lilo and Koa, and are raising Eigenmann’s eldest daughter, Ellie.
