Instead of responding directly to actor Derek Ramsay’s criticism, Philmar Alipayo took to Facebook on February 12 to share a dance video, seemingly brushing off the controversy surrounding him.
In the clip, the Siargao-based surfer can be seen dancing to ‘APT’ while his friends laugh in the background.
“Diri sa FB kay hamok man react, hala pa ganahan ta sajaw be,” Philmar captioned the post, which translates to “Since people here on Facebook react a lot, let’s just enjoy and dance.”
The post came after Derek Ramsay publicly called him out, questioning his actions over his matching tattoo with Swedish marine photographer Pernilla Sjöo—an issue that nearly led to his breakup with Andi Eigenmann.
In an interview with Ogie Diaz, Derek criticized Philmar for what he called a disrespectful act toward Andi Eigenmann.
“Bilang isang lalaki, kung ako nasa sapatos niya at mayroon akong best friend na babae at sinabihan ako na ‘magpa-tattoo tayo’… hindi ko gagawin ‘yun out of respect to my wife kahit na may problema kami, pambabastos na ‘yun sa asawa ko.”
The actor challenged Philmar to take accountability for his actions instead of downplaying the situation.
“You got a tattoo with Pern, that’s 80 percent your fault, and for you not to have the balls to stand up and say, ‘This is all on me. I wronged my wife, and I wronged my friend.’ Own it, and then maybe I will have some respect for you.”
As of writing, Philmar has not directly addressed Derek’s statements.
While Philmar has opted for a lighthearted approach, Andi has remained silent on Derek’s criticism, particularly his remark that her decision to go public with their conflict was irresponsible.
Derek also pointed out that Pernilla Sjöo has been severely affected by the backlash, claiming that she has been unable to go outside and has been crying daily due to the relentless online bashing.
On February 10, Philmar announced that he and Andi had reconciled, sharing a video of them together with their children.
“It all went way (too) far and should have been handled in private. Ok na kami, sanan ok ra kami.”
The issue began when netizens noticed that Andi and Philmar had unfollowed each other on Instagram, fueling rumors of a breakup.
The situation escalated after Andi posted a cryptic Instagram Story, questioning whether it was suspicious for a “friend” to invite her partner to get a matching tattoo without informing her.
Netizens later discovered that Philmar and Pernilla had similar tattoo designs, leading to speculations of a third party.
While Andi clarified that Philmar did not cheat on her, she admitted that she felt betrayed by his actions.
Despite Philmar’s claim that things are now settled, the couple has yet to refollow each other on Instagram, leaving fans wondering. Will Philmar finally respond to Derek Ramsay’s challenge? Is this truly the end of the controversy, or is another twist on the way?
