Clark, Angeles City, Pampanga – On Sunday, March 23, 2025, Central Luzon’s culinary scene welcomed Huwon by Kiwa, a new Korean restaurant at the prestigious Royce Hotel and Casino.

This grand opening marked the arrival of authentic Korean flavors blended with modern culinary artistry, promising an elevated dining experience for the region’s food enthusiasts.

The launch was a spectacular event, attended by esteemed guests including Pampanga Vice Governor Lilia Pineda, Clark Development Corporation (CDC) Special Assistant to the President and CEO Zoraida Camello, and the restaurant’s owner, Dr. David Shim, who traveled from the United States for the occasion. Media and influencers also attended, eager to experience Huwon’s premium Korean cuisine.

A Fusion of Tradition and Innovation

Huwon by Kiwa prioritizes authenticity, importing most ingredients directly from Korea to maintain the integrity of traditional Korean gastronomy. However, the restaurant also embraces modernity, presenting its dishes with a contemporary flair that appeals to today’s sophisticated diners. This results in a delightful balance of bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and a commitment to health-conscious dining options.

The culinary journey begins with the refreshing Chadolbagi Salad, a light and crisp appetizer. This is followed by a diverse selection of appetizers showcasing Korean culinary diversity: Modum-jeon (savory pancakes), Haemul Kimchi (a tangy seafood and aged kimchi fusion), Japchae (sweet potato noodles stir-fried with beef and vegetables), and Salmon Sashimi.

The main course is a carnivore’s dream, featuring Korean barbecue options such as Yangnyeom Galbi (marinated beef short ribs), Dak BBQ (tender chicken with a special Korean sauce), and Samgyeopsal (pork belly with various dipping sauces). For those preferring stews, Huwon offers comforting choices like Galbitang (rich beef short rib soup), Kimchi-jjigae (spicy kimchi stew with pork and tofu), and Chadol Doenjang-jjigae (hearty soybean paste stew with thinly sliced beef). Each meal is complemented by six meticulously crafted side dishes, a hallmark of traditional Korean dining.

The dining experience concludes with Pat Bingsu, a beloved shaved ice dessert with sweet red beans and fresh fruits. Hot barley tea or cold plum tea provides a refreshing complement to the meal’s bold and vibrant flavors.

Huwon by Kiwa offers more than just exceptional food; it’s a visual and sensory experience. The restaurant’s stunning Korean-inspired architecture combines refinement and simplicity, creating an elegant and welcoming atmosphere. Private rooms are available for intimate gatherings or celebrations.
