If you’ve been tuning into It’s Showtime lately, you know this season of Tawag Ng Tanghalan is something special.
They’ve brought back non-winners from Years One to Eight, giving these incredible singers another shot at the spotlight. It’s a beautiful reminder of why the Philippines is known worldwide for its amazing musical talent—and it’s all about second chances. The March 12 episode gave us one of those moments you can’t help but talk about: Vensor Domasig, a contestant with a big heart, thanking Vice Ganda in a way that left everyone teary-eyed.
Tawag Ng Tanghalan has always been more than a singing contest—it’s where raw talent meets real stories. This season, by bringing back past non-winners, the show’s proving that setbacks don’t define you; your talent does. Vensor, a third-year Engineering student from his hometown, stepped up to the mic not just to sing but to pour his heart out about how the show—and Vice Ganda—changed his life.
“Marami pong nangyari sa akin dahil sa It’s Showtime,” Vensor said, his voice full of gratitude. He talked about how the show helped him find fans and land gigs that keep him going. But then he turned to Vice Ganda, and you could feel the room shift. “Gusto ko ring magpasalamat kay Meme Vice dahil hanggang ngayon, sinusuportahan pa rin nya ang pag-aaral ko,” he shared, letting us in on how Vice has been quietly paying for his studies.
“Maraming-maraming salamat po dahil kahit hindi nyo ako kaano-ano, tinulungan nyo pa rin ako,” he added, his words hitting hard—Vice didn’t have to help, but he did anyway.
You could see it got to Vice Ganda, too. With emotion in his voice, he looked at Vensor and said, “Mag-aral kang mabuti. Paunlarin mo ang iyong sarili. Ang hirap maging mahirap. Ang hirap ng mangmang, paglalaruan ka. Ayaw ko na paglaruan ka.”
It was real talk—Vice telling him to study hard, grow, and rise above the struggles of being broke or clueless, because he believes in him. It felt like a big brother giving advice, raw and straight from the heart.
And here’s the thing: Vice has done this before. He’s helped other It’s Showtime contestants chase their dreams through school, showing again and again that he’s not just there for laughs—he’s there to lift people up.
For Vensor, that support means he can juggle his Engineering classes and still chase his passion for performing, all thanks to the stage Tawag Ng Tanghalan gave him and Vice’s belief in his future.
