Foreignoy Contestant’s Slip-Up on ‘Eat Bulaga’ Sparks Shock and Laughter

The April 2, 2025 episode of Eat Bulaga, aired live on TV5, took an unexpected turn when a contestant in the popular “You’re My Foreignoy” segment inadvertently dropped a Filipino curse phrase on air, leaving hosts and viewers in a mix of shock and amusement.
The incident occurred during a casual chat between hosts Maine Mendoza, Miles Ocampo, and Ryan Agoncillo and Rahul, an Indian national participating in the segment that showcases foreigners embracing Filipino culture.
As part of the lighthearted exchange, Mendoza asked Rahul, “Ano naman ang natututunan mo sa mga Pilipino mong kaibigan?” (“What new things have you learned from your Filipino friends?”), following his cheerful affirmation that he had made many Filipino friends.
Ryan Agoncillo quickly interjected with a playful warning, reminding Rahul to filter his response for the sake of the audience.
However, Rahul, seemingly unaware of the weight of his words, candidly replied, “Tinuturo sa akin, ang dami… halimbawa, ‘pu***g ina mo’” (“They teach me a lot… for example, ‘pu***g ina mo'”). The phrase, a well-known Filipino expletive translating roughly to a strong insult, caught everyone off guard.
Mendoza immediately halted Rahul, exclaiming, “Ayon na nga!” (“There it is!”), before addressing the audience with a clarification: “Mga dabarkads, hindi po aware si Rahul” (“Dabarkads, Rahul isn’t aware”).
Miles Ocampo, visibly stunned, remained speechless, her wide-eyed reaction mirroring the surprise felt by many watching at home. Adding to the chaos, Rahul innocently repeated the phrase while trying to explain that he didn’t understand its meaning, amplifying the awkward yet comical moment.
Trying to regain control of the situation, Mendoza quipped, “Dapat yata magpalit na tayo ng tanong” (“Maybe we should change the question”), steering the segment back to safer territory with her signature humor.
The unscripted blunder has since sparked a flurry of reactions among viewers, with many finding humor in Rahul’s obliviousness while others speculate on potential repercussions. Given the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB)’s strict guidelines on profanity—explicitly banning words like “putang ina” on air—it remains uncertain how the regulatory body will respond. Past incidents, such as Wally Bayola’s off-screen expletive in 2023, have prompted MTRCB hearings, suggesting this episode may face similar scrutiny.
For now, the Eat Bulaga team has yet to issue an official statement, leaving fans eagerly awaiting whether this slip-up will be addressed on the next episode—or by the MTRCB itself. One thing is clear: Rahul’s unintentional lesson in Filipino slang has made this a memorable moment in the show’s long, unscripted history.
