KWIK Joins the Fight Against Dengue in Quezon City

As Quezon City faces an alarming surge in dengue cases, KWIK Multi-Insect Killer took swift and proactive action to help protect communities through a localized education campaign and door-to-door product distribution in Barangay Commonwealth, Quezon City.

This initiative is part of KWIK’s broader campaign to safeguard Filipino homes against dengue mosquitoes through planned outreach in 12 barangays across Pasay, Paranaque, Mandaluyong, and additional areas in Quezon City—reflecting its continuing commitment to large-scale awareness and effective prevention.

Barangay Commonwealth council member and representatives receives KWIK Multi-Insect Killer to support the barangay’s dengue prevention efforts.

Local authorities have recently declared a dengue outbreak in the city due to a staggering 283% increase in reported cases compared to last year. According to the City Epidemiology and Surveillance Division (CESD), Quezon City recorded 1,769 dengue cases between January 1 and February 14, 2025—a nearly 200% spike year-on-year—with at least 10 confirmed deaths.

Recognizing the urgency of the situation, the KWIK team mobilized to bring critical dengue-related information drive directly to households. Partnering with barangay officials in Barangay Commonwealth, they conducted educational sessions on how dengue spreads, early symptoms to watch for, and actionable prevention tips. Residents were also guided on how to maintain a mosquito-free home environment and were equipped with KWIK insecticide products as a practical line of defense. The same information drive was carried out in the 11 other selected barangays as well.

For Consumer Care Products Incorporated Product Manager Catherine Perez, the fight against dengue is a comprehensive effort to reach high-risk areas and build a wide-reaching campaign focused on education and prevention.

“This initiative in Barangay Commonwealth is just one step in a broader campaign that spans multiple cities in Metro Manila. We believe that by empowering communities with knowledge and providing accessible solutions, we can make a meaningful impact in the fight against this disease,” said Perez.

The barangay-based education also emphasized how mosquitoes continue to breed in stagnant water, found in old tires, clogged gutters, and uncovered containers, making community awareness and individual action essential.

The session also covered early warning signs of dengue, such as high fever, severe headache, muscle and joint pain, and skin rashes, encouraging residents to seek early medical attention if symptoms appear.

“Through knowledge sharing and community engagement, we believe we can turn the situation against dengue. But prevention must start at home—and with the right tools like KWIK, every Filipino family can actively protect
themselves,” Perez added.

The initiative was warmly received by local residents and officials, who expressed appreciation for the timely intervention. With more summer months ahead, KWIK aims to expand its outreach efforts to other high-risk communities across Pasay, Paranaque, Mandaluyong, and Quezon City to reinforce the message: Basta KWIK, Tapos ang Kalaban, an insect killer tested to be proven against mosquitoes, housefly, and cockroaches – helping safeguard communities from common insect-borne illnesses.

KWIK Multi-Insect Killer Blue Variant (water-based) is available at a suggested retail price of PhP162.80 for 300ml, PhP239.50 for 500ml, and PhP281.00 for 600ml per can and can be purchased at leading supermarkets nationwide, as well as online shops like CCPI Shop, Lazada and Shopee. For more information on KWIK’s products and upcoming community programs, visit KWIKs Facebook page.
