In what has become an annual tradition between Epson Philippines and members of the media covering lifestyle and tech, the 16th edition of Epson Fusion brought us to paradise—Misibis Bay, a luxurious island resort nestled on Cagraray Island, Bacacay, Albay.
For three days, we enjoyed nature’s wonders, meaningful conversations, exciting games, and firsthand insights into Epson’s latest innovations, all wrapped in this year’s theme: EcoSynergy—a celebration of aligning sustainability with cutting-edge technology.
Day 1: A Warm Welcome from Nature and Epson
The moment we landed at Bicol International Airport in Daraga, Albay, we were greeted by the stunning sight of Mayon Volcano—an awe-inspiring symbol believed to reveal itself to those with a “pure heart” or as a sign of “everlasting love.” It was a beautiful welcome after so many years of not seeing this majestic view.
Misibis Bay is quite a journey from the airport, but the drive was worth it. Surrounded by lush greens and clear blue waters, the resort set the perfect backdrop for Epson Fusion 16. Our first day was all about settling in—lunch, casual dinner, and a warm welcome from Epson Philippines President and Director Masako Kusama, who officially opened the event.
“This year, we come together to celebrate our collaboration and shared purpose. More than a theme, EcoSynergy reflects our belief that when we align innovation with care for the environment, and when we work in harmony with our partners, real impact happens,” Kusama shared.
The night also featured a touching tribute to Ed Bonoan, former head of Epson’s Sales Division, who recently retired after years of dedicated service.
Day 2: Friendly Competition and Island Adventures
No Epson Fusion would be complete without ‘The Great Epson Fusion Tournament’, where attendees are grouped into teams and go through fun, challenging activities to collect the letters of “FUSION.” This year, the challenges focused more on wit and teamwork rather than physical endurance—something many of us appreciated.
LionhearTV was part of Team Yellow—the team with the highest assigned value, ems! From solving projector puzzles to coconut bowling under the scorching sun, we gave it our best shot. We may not have nailed every challenge (looking at you, Tangram Rush), but the bonding, laughter, and fun made it all worth it.
One of the highlights? Oragon Moves, where we danced the Pantomina—a traditional Bicol wedding dance. It’s been years since I danced to a full song, and thanks to my supportive teammates, I actually enjoyed it!
After lunch and a bit of rest, we dove into the resort’s water activities. I went jet skiing (yes, solo!) and had a refreshing swim in the ocean. I even forgot about my scheduled massage—no regrets though!
The day ended on a high with an enchanting fire dance performance by the beach followed by Socials Night, where awards were given to top-performing media partners and winners of the tournament.
Spoiler alert: Team Yellow came in last—but we were the happiest team of all!
Day 3: Cruise, Culture, and Farewell
We woke up early for a scenic Albay Cruise through the Sula Channel, where majestic limestone formations and coastal views reminded us of Palawan’s beauty. With Mayon Volcano visible in the background, it was the perfect send-off.
After freshening up and packing, we had our final lunch at Misibis Bay—where the dishes surprisingly leveled up just as we were about to leave! My favorite? The rich pork soup—perfect for someone who had been craving broth for days.
Before heading to the airport, we made a quick stop at the Cagsawa Ruins for a fun photoshoot and some pasalubong shopping. Mayon Volcano, even partially hidden by clouds, remained a breathtaking sight.
Gratitude and Memories. Thank you, Epson Philippines, for this unforgettable experience. Each year gets better, but this one was particularly memorable for me—especially because I got to bond with so many fellow media attendees. No stress, no issues, just good vibes all throughout.
