Andres Muhlach and Ashtine Olviga continue to capture fan interest with the growing buzz around their upcoming film ‘Minamahal: 100 Bulaklak Para Kay Luna’ — but are they now an official love team?
When asked directly if their new movie marks the formal launch of the ‘AshDres’ pairing, both young stars opted to take the diplomatic route, acknowledging the complexity of fan dynamics and the responsibilities that come with their craft.
“As much as possible po talaga, we try to please them all,” Andres said at the story conference. “But they all have their own preferences at hindi natin mapipilit ang lahat. Kung ano po ang ibinibigay sa amin na trabaho, we are here to fulfill and obey.”
Ashtine echoed the sentiment, adding, “Okey naman po kami kahit magkakaiba ang kapareha. For as long as maganda ang project at ang management po namin ang nagsasabi, we are here to deliver.”
The pair’s fans have been vocal online, with some fiercely defending the AshDres tandem while others remain loyal to Ashtine’s past pairing with Rabin Angeles. Despite the clamor, both Andres and Ashtine are focused on professionalism and mutual support.
“Kami naman ni Ashtine, we support each other kasi we’re partner sa movie. We just help each other,” Andres said, when asked about how he’s supporting Ashtine amid recent bashing online. Viva Artist Agency had previously released a statement warning that malicious attacks could be considered cyber libel.
Ashtine, for her part, brushed off the negativity: “Tungkol naman doon, wala. Natatawa na lang ako kasi kung totoo, masasaktan ako!”
Despite the romantic premise of ‘Minamahal’, both stars emphasized that their focus remains on work — though fans can’t help but read between the lines.
“We are professional talaga. We know what’s right and what’s wrong. Ash is amazing to work with,” Andres said.
Ashtine added, “Pina-prioritize namin ang work. Sobrang thankful kami sa mga blessing.”
Pressed further, Ashtine gave a cheeky, fan-pleasing answer when asked if Andres is someone easy to fall for:
“Ahh, kainlab-inlab. Opo naman! Hahaha!”
