Kapuso teen actress and ‘Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition’ third big placer Charlie Fleming opened up about her thoughts on being constantly compared to fellow ‘PBB’ alum and Gen 11 Big Winner, Fyang Smith.

In her recent guest appearance on ‘Fast Talk With Boy Abunda’ alongside her final duo partner Esnyr Ranollo, Charlie admitted that such comparisons make her uncomfortable and anxious.
“Actually po, nagugulat po talaga ako, natatakot po talaga ako because I really don’t want to be compared to other artists, especially po in a derogatory way,” she said.
Although she has seen online discussions pitting her against Fyang, Charlie explained that being perceived as more mature or wiser than her peers isn’t something she aimed for — it was shaped by life experience.
“’Yung wisdom po and being mature, it comes from experience, it comes from understanding po. Hindi po talaga sinasadya. I have no total control. And I haven’t spoken up about it because it’s definitely not something that I want to put myself in,” she added.
When asked if she and Fyang had personally interacted, Charlie clarified: “We’ve met once only. I’ve said ‘Hello,’ I’ve introduced myself. But we don’t actually follow each other [on social media].”
Boy Abunda followed up, asking if they were friends. Charlie responded quickly, “Hindi rin po, not yet.”
During the same interview, Charlie and Esnyr were asked about Fyang Smith’s viral comment asserting that no PBB season could surpass Gen 11.

Fyang had said: “Alam mo, kahit ilang batch pa ‘yan, walang makakatalo sa batch namin. Hello, Gen 11. Breaking, highest [concurrent views], hello? Hindi, joke lang. Kaya walang makakatalo sa batch namin kasi lahat kami very genuine, very authentic. Akala nga namin walang nanonood, kaya lahat kami ganun mga ugali namin… Well, para sa amin lang yun na walang [makakatalo], siyempre batch namin yun, e.”
Rather than respond with criticism, Esnyr took a more balanced view: “Hindi naman po ito competition. Pero feeling ko, Tito Boy, ‘yung iba’t ibang season, may iba’t ibang taste. Sa amin po, we can say na unique din po talaga ‘yung season namin at tinangkilik po talaga naman ng mga tao.”
Charlie agreed, emphasizing how different their edition was in context and format: “Our seasons are different. This is the first GMA and ABS-CBN collab. So it’s completely different from what batch they have.”
Esnyr added with a smile, “Iba-iba kami ng amats. At I love their season too.”
Fans can look forward to seeing Charlie, Esnyr, and the rest of the ‘PBB: Celebrity Collab Edition’ housemates reunite at the upcoming ‘The Big ColLOVE’ fan convention, set for August 10 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Following the show’s success, GMA Network and ABS-CBN are reportedly already in talks for a second season of Celebrity Collab Edition.
