Veteran actor Gabby Concepcion recently shared his thoughts on co-star Jak Roberto’s heartbreak and gave a brief but warm comment on former wife Sharon Cuneta’s stunning transformation.
Speaking to reporters during a media interview for ‘My Father’s Wife’, Gabby was asked what advice he could offer to those nursing a broken heart — much like his co-star Jak Roberto, who recently confirmed his breakup with Barbie Forteza.
“Well, eto na nga, kaya kami nagsasama ni Jak kasi marami kaming pag-uusapan, kasi siyempre ‘yung mga nangyayari sa showbiz, eh pang-showbiz lang talaga,” he said with a laugh. “So ‘pag nag-beach kami, siyempre mag-uusap kami ng kung ano-ano.”
Gabby revealed he plans to invite Jak to his beach house in Batangas, hinting that their next conversations could be more personal. When pressed for words of wisdom for Jak, Gabby replied simply and sagely: “Wala, move on lang, move on. Move forward. We don’t forget about the past, it’s hard to forget but we learn from it.”
As for his own past with Megastar Sharon Cuneta, Gabby had nothing but kind words. When asked about Sharon’s much-talked-about weight loss, he said: “Uy, congratulations, ha! She’s lost a lot of weight, she’s healthy, keep it up!”
Gabby also expressed interest in possibly reuniting with Sharon on screen.
“Gusto ko nga may teleserye na rin kami eh,” he said enthusiastically. When asked if that could really happen, he smiled and replied, “Oo, puwede, tapos sama si Jak.”
Currently, Gabby stars as Robert in GMA Network’s ‘My Father’s Wife’, which airs weekday afternoons. He described the role as something fresh and unfamiliar even for someone with his decades-long career.
“It’s an interesting role, I have never done it before,” he said, adding that it’s a new avenue for him as an actor. The series features a complex relationship between Robert and Betsy (Kazel Kinouchi), the best friend of his daughter Gina (played by Kylie Padilla), adding layers of intrigue to his latest dramatic performance.
