Makisig Morales opens up about wife Nicole’s miscarriage

Former ‘Super Inggo’ star Makisig Morales revealed that he and his wife, Fil-Australian beauty queen Nicole Joson, previously suffered a miscarriage while trying to have their first child.

In an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN, the 28-year-old former child actor—who has been living in Sydney, Australia for over a decade—shared that while starting a family remains in their plans, they are not in a rush and continue to trust in God’s perfect timing.

“Planning as well but it’s not really our priority for now. Para sa amin, it’s not a race and everyone has their timelines and God’s perfect timing,” Makisig explained.

“Cole had a miscarriage before, pero it doesn’t mean we will stop trying. Meron pang bigger plans si Lord sa amin before having a baby. We will prepare the pathway muna para when the baby comes, madali na,” he added.

Makisig, who rose to fame as the lead in ABS-CBN’s ‘Super Inggo’ and as a ‘Little Big Star’ first runner-up, has been married to Nicole for nearly six years. Despite getting married at 22, he has no regrets.

“It’s God po, kapag Siya talaga ang nasa gitna ng relationship, mas magkakaroon kayo ng patience and understanding sa isa’t isa,” he said. “Over the years, natutunan kong mas kumalma at mag-share, kasi dati kapag food ko, food ko lang. Pero Cole broke that. Now, I share food with her, kasi mas nakakagana kumain pag sabay kumakain.”

While he has stepped away from mainstream showbiz, Makisig continues to perform for the Filipino community in Australia. “It’s been a roller coaster ride yet I’m super happy kasi slowly but surely it’s coming together. Ang importante po sa akin, kasama ko ang asawa ko, masaya na ako,” he shared.

The actor also expressed his gratitude for the unwavering support of his parents and siblings who are also based in Australia. “For me, it’s important kasi at least one call away sila especially pag may emergencies. Pero kahit naman medyo malayo, wala pa rin problema, we still make time to see each other every once in a while,” he said.

Looking back on the values his parents instilled in him, Makisig said, “Being humble sa kapwa and make sure na walang naaapakang tao sa mga ginagawa. Ganun din sa pagkain—kahit mahirap gawin dito sa Australia dahil hindi pare-pareho ang tapos ng trabaho—pero as much as possible, sabay-sabay kakain. Pati po ang pagdadasal.”
