The camp of actors Aljur and Vin Abrenica has broken its silence following threats of legal action from the producers of ‘Wild Boys’, clarifying that the issue stemmed from a miscommunication and lack of clarity in the contract.

This comes after Bright Ideas, the production company behind ‘Wild Boys’, announced that it was considering filing a breach of contract case against the brothers over their failure to join promotional activities for the film, including the premiere night.
Atty. Noel Atienza, legal counsel for Bright Ideas, said in an interview that a demand letter would be sent to the Abrenicas to give them a chance to explain before any formal case is filed.
“Ayoko mag-file right away without giving them the opportunity to explain. If they fail to explain, that is when we will file breach of contract with damages,” said Atienza, adding, “Even in the absence of an express statement, there is still an obligation to promote. Dapat promote mo ‘yun for the success of the movie.”
He further noted that the production had attempted multiple times to reach out to the brothers through various channels.
“Walang response. All of those acts of producer of getting in touch — no response was given. Wala talaga from all aspects and possible tao tawagan,” he said. “Siguro they need to comply with my demand to rectify their failures. It is not too late for them to promote the movie. If the movie date is August 13, it is not too late.”

In response, the Abrenica brothers’ management told ABS-CBN that the actors were never made aware that Viva Films would be involved as the film’s distributor — a detail that was not reflected in the contract they signed.
“While there is no issue working with Viva, the company was not mentioned in the contract, and they were unaware it would serve as the distributor,” said the management. “They were neither given a schedule nor informed that the distributor would be the one coordinating with them.”
They also denied that the brothers intentionally snubbed the promo events, and assured that Aljur and Vin are now coordinating with the producer and are committed to attending upcoming promotional activities.
‘Wild Boys’ also stars Nico Locco, Christian Ty, Rolando Inocencio, Cataleya Surio, Rash Flores, CJ Garcia, Kristof Garcia, Inday Garutay, and Atak Star. The film opens in cinemas nationwide on August 13.
