The love team of Andres Muhlach and Ashtine Olviga—fondly called AshDres by their fans—continues to capture hearts, especially after their heartfelt exchanges during the grand press conference of their upcoming film ‘Minamahal (100 Bulaklak Para Kay Luna)’, which premieres September 24.
When asked what he admires about his leading lady, Andres was quick to highlight Ashtine’s natural charm.
“Hindi siya maarte, and type ko talaga ang mga mata niya,” he said, adding, “Ako the same thing, ‘yung ugali niya and when she smiles… napi-feel mo talaga ang sincerity niya. Hindi siya mareklamo.”
Ashtine, on the other hand, praised Andres beyond his good looks: “Bukod po sa physical niya, nakakagwapo po talaga sa kanya ang puso niya e, yun talaga.”
The young actress also opened up about lessons on love. “Minsan mahirap piliin ang sarili mo kasi mahal mo ‘yung tao. Pero narealize ko, dapat piliin mo rin ang sarili mo, kasi it takes courage na sometimes you choose your love,” she shared.
For Andres, love is all about courage despite its uncertainties. “Love can be scary sometimes, right? I think the scariest way to love is to love someone else. Kahit nakakatakot, susundin mo pa rin naman because it’s a journey,” he reflected.
The AshDres fandom made their presence felt during the presscon, with some even likening the atmosphere to a wedding reception. Fans clinked their glasses, chanting for Andres and Ashtine to share a kiss.
Laughing, the two stars told their supporters to “just wait for the movie.” Director Jason Paul Laxamana added to the suspense, teasing, “Secret kung may kissing scene nga. Kailangan panoorin.”
During the Q&A, Andres was asked if there are plans for a screening in Madrid, Spain—where he previously studied. With many of his friends there requesting it, he admitted he’d love to bring the movie abroad, especially if he could take Ashtine with him.
He even revealed his top picks for a Madrid tour with his on-screen partner: El Retiro Park and his former university. “Gusto ko ipakita kay Ashtine ang mga paborito kong lugar doon,” he said.
Their natural sweetness and admiration for each other didn’t go unnoticed. One fan even commented, “Honestly speaking, they have undeniable chemistry compared to other love teams I’ve watched. So genuine and natural, ang AshDres!”
Whether reel or real, Andres and Ashtine’s closeness continues to thrill fans who can’t wait to see their love story unfold on screen.
