The glitz, the drama, the ratings; Barbie Forteza’s newest Kapuso primetime offering ‘Beauty Empire’ isn’t just serving looks and plot twists, it’s also serving dominance in the ratings game.
According to the latest Nielsen NUTAM People survey, ‘Beauty Empire’ continues to own the throne in its timeslot, leaving its Kapamilya counterpart ‘Sins of the Father (SOTF)’ trailing behind.
On Monday, July 21, the glossy drama won with a solid 4.7 percent rating, comfortably ahead of SOTF’s 3.2 percent.
The next day, Tuesday, July 22, the empire held its ground at 4.7 percent, while SOTF slipped to 2.9 percent, widening the gap to 1.8 percent.
During the midweek, on Wednesday, July 23, ‘Beauty Empire’ dipped slightly to 4.3 percent, giving SOTF a chance to claw back with a 3.1 percent rating. But even with the dip, the Kapuso series kept its lead.
Thursday, July 24 saw another minor slide for ‘Beauty Empire’ at 4.2 percent, while SOTF inched up to 3.2 percent. The gap may be narrowing, but the throne still belongs to Barbie’s empire.
Since its premiere on July 14, ‘Beauty Empire’ has been the undisputed queen of its slot, except for one rare instance on July 15 when both shows tied at 3.8 percent. Since then, it’s been a steady reign for the Kapuso drama.
So, the question now is, Can Sins of the Father pull off a surprise twist and dethrone ‘Beauty Empire’? Or will the Kapuso drama series continue to rule the primetime kingdom?
Stay tuned. The ratings war is far from over.
