Showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin has fired back at Vice Ganda after the latter mentioned her in a playful jab during the ‘Super Divas’ concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Friday, August 8.
While engaging with the audience, Vice spotted her close friends MC Muah and Lassy Marquez in attendance.
“So you made it,” Vice told the pair, before teasing, “Bakit kayo nandito? Magagalit si Cristy Fermin! Akala nila magkakaaway tayo, sisirain ninyo ‘yong narrative. Mawawalan sila ng content.”
On the August 11 episode of ‘Cristy Ferminute’, Fermin addressed the joke, calling out the three comedians.
“Lassy, MC—lalo ka na MC—maano ngang magpakatotoo ka! Ano ba ang sinabi mo kay Vice? Anong malay namin sa nangyari sa Palawan? Anong alam namin sa ‘Showtime?’ […] Anong alam namin sa pagkakaibigan n’yo?” she said.
“Mag-reality check ka, Vice,” she continued. “Nasa palibot mo lang ang mga ahas na tumutuklaw sa ‘yo. Puwede ba magtigil nga kayo? Magpakatotoo nga kayo!”
The veteran columnist also defended herself from Vice’s insinuation.
“Anong content? Ano? Inimbento namin ‘yong kuwento. Hindi kami nag-iimbento ng kuwento. May binasa kami. Alam mo ‘yan, MC!” she added.
The rumored rift began last May when Vice confronted MC in a vlog for allegedly not knowing how to get along during a Palawan trip. Days later, Cristy reacted on her program, saying she was “affected” by MC’s tears in the vlog.
At the ‘Super Divas’ concert, however, MC and Lassy showed up to support Vice. MC explained, “Siyempre hindi namin puwede ma-miss yung concert mo.”
Vice’s segment with the two included playful jabs about their celebrity lookalikes. Holding MC’s hand, she quipped, “Kahit busing-busy ang ating pangulo sa Malacañang, nandito siya. Mahal na pangulo, bumati ka naman,” referring to MC’s resemblance to President Bongbong Marcos.
Turning to Lassy, whom some say looks like former president Rodrigo Duterte, Vice added, “Because this is a time of loving, lahat tayo nagkakaisa, fresh from The Hague, bumati naman po kayo.”
The lighthearted exchange drew loud laughter and cheers from the crowd, momentarily easing rumors of tension among the three.
