Actor and TV host Edu Manzano has joined the chorus of celebrities voicing their frustration over alleged corruption in government flood control projects—but he’s doing it his way: with biting humor and satire.

On Friday, Aug. 29, Manzano uploaded a series of AI-generated photos of himself on Facebook, parodying the lavish lifestyle of contractors and their families now under scrutiny.
In one post where he appeared as an “engineer” in a construction vest, he wrote: “Relax, guys… Ako na bahala… Sa road to forever. Bill, Bill, Bill. 20% semento 80% kupit.”
Another photo showed him sitting inside a luxury car with a construction helmet, captioned: “Second day at work… pero abot na hanggang second life and budget ko.”
Manzano then followed it up with another image, posing outside a luxury vehicle at a supposed construction site: “Guys, update sa site: payong (check), helmet (check), infra (check). Keep safe, umuulan na naman.”
In his latest post, he sat inside a posh hotel room with designer shopping bags and coffee on the table, cheekily greeting the public: “Good morning, mga taxpayers! Saturday morning, no site visit, no stress. Just Ladurée, a Rolls-Royce payong, and taxpayer money brewed to perfection.”
He added hashtags such as #EngineerEdu, #newcareerpath, #roadtobulsa, and #CroissantOverConstruction—phrases that netizens quickly picked up as part of the growing online backlash against contractors allegedly pocketing public funds.
Manzano’s posts, which have since gone viral, struck a chord with netizens tired of seeing political families and their so-called “nepo babies” flaunting luxury cars, designer bags, and jet-setting lifestyles on social media.
The satirical posts came as the Marcos administration continued its probe into flood control contractors flagged for bagging billions of pesos in alleged anomalous deals with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
