In a celebration three decades in the making, the country’s longest-running gag show, Bubble Gang, is trading its studio stage for something even bigger—a grand concert that promises to be as explosive, outrageous, and unforgettable as the sketches that made it a household name.
The big reveal came straight from the comedy genius himself, Michael V., during his contract renewal with GMA Network last August 18. As the face and creative soul of Bubble Gang since day one, Bitoy couldn’t have chosen a better moment to share the news, marking not just another milestone in his own career, but also a historic chapter in Philippine comedy.
“Mga Kapuso sa Pilipinas at buong mundo, we are excited to kick off the 30th anniversary celebration ng pambansang comedy show, Bubble Gang. Ito ang BG30: Batang Bubble Ako,” Bitoy said.
He explained the reason behind the theme of this milestone, “Batang Bubble Ako kasi kahit 30 years na ang Bubble Gang, ito ang show na hindi tumatanda. Lahat tayo lumaki na kasama ang Bubble Gang. Since 1995, bahagi na ang Bubble Gang sa buhay ng maraming Pilipino. Hindi lang kami ang Bubble Gang. Tayong lahat, bawat Pilipino ang Bubble Gang.”
Happening in October, the Batang Bubble Ako Concert invites all generations who grew up watching and laughing with the cast members of Bubble Gang through the years. This is going to be a once-in-a-lifetime gathering of iconic characters, legendary sketches, and surprise guests. Fans can expect musical numbers, comedic throwbacks, and brand-new gags created exclusively for the event.
Michael V. teased the Kapuso audiences on what to expect from their anniversary celebration, “Masaya, makulay, at engrande ang celebration ng BG30: Batang Bubble Ako. Bibigyan namin ng panibagong timpla ang inyong minahal na sketches and characters for the past 30 years. Magsasama-sama rin ang mga cast ng Bubble Gang since 1995. At marami kaming superstar guests na siguradong ika-e-excite ninyo.”
