The noontime television ratings competition is heating up as rival shows “It’s Showtime” and ‘EAT…Bulaga’ engage in a close battle for viewership.

According to the latest Nielsen NUTAM People survey, ‘EAT…Bulaga’ is steadily narrowing the gap with “It’s Showtime”, reflecting a tightening race between the two programs.
On Saturday, August 9, “It’s Showtime” secured a 5.0% rating, placing it at number 10 on the overall Saturday leaderboard. Trailing closely behind, ‘EAT…Bulaga’ landed at number 12 with a 4.0% rating—just a 1.0% difference, marking the narrowest gap between the two shows for the week.
Earlier in the week, the margin was more pronounced.
On Monday, August 4, “It’s Showtime” led with 5.1%, a 1.5% advantage over “EAT…Bulaga’s” 3.6%. The following day, Tuesday, saw a slight dip for “It’s Showtime” to 4.7%, but it still maintained a 1.4% lead over “EAT…Bulaga’s” 3.3%.
Midweek on Wednesday, the ratings continued to decline for “It’s Showtime”, dropping to 4.5%, though it kept a 1.3% edge over its rival, which posted 3.2%.
Thursday brought a rebound for “It’s Showtime”, climbing back to 4.7% and widening the gap to 1.4% as ‘EAT…Bulaga’ remained at 3.3%.
However, on Friday, August 8, both shows saw an increase in ratings, with “It’s Showtime” rising to 4.8% and ‘EAT…Bulaga’ improving to 3.6%, reducing the margin to just 1.2%.
With the ratings gap shrinking, the question now is whether this signals the beginning of a sustained neck-and-neck rivalry, or if “It’s Showtime” will once again pull ahead and leave ‘EAT…Bulaga’ trailing. The coming weeks will be crucial in determining the trajectory of this competitive noontime showdown.
