Broadcast journalist Atom Araullo has once again criticized the government’s handling of corruption scandals, calling out what he described as endless investigations without accountability.

In a Threads post on Thursday, September 4, Araullo expressed frustration over how corruption remains rampant despite repeated hearings and proposals in Congress.
“Puro panukala, puro imbestigasyon, puro palabas, puro satsat. Pero ang mga big-time kurakot? Napaparusahan ba? Hindi. Mas nananalo pa sa eleksyon.”
He later followed this with another post on Saturday morning, September 6, quipping: “Investigating themselves again? Groundbreaking.”
In a separate Facebook update that same day, Araullo said he understood calls for calm but stressed that people’s anger is justified.
Though Araullo did not directly mention specific cases, many netizens linked his remarks to the ongoing controversy surrounding alleged anomalies in flood control projects. Former DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan previously revealed that some ₱5.9 billion worth of projects awarded to Wawao Builders, Inc. in Bulacan appeared to be “ghost projects,” a claim later confirmed by DPWH Undersecretary for Planning Services Maria Catalina Cabral.
Araullo, known for his sharp takes on political and social issues, has consistently used his platform to push for accountability and transparency in government.
