Actress Claudine Barretto has expressed her firm support for the children of the late box-office director Wenn Deramas, after the Court of Appeals (CA) denied the petition of his siblings and relatives seeking a DNA test.

In a Facebook post, Barretto shared a photo of the director with the caption: “CA denies DNA test requested by Wenn Deramas’ siblings and relatives be done on director’s children.”
She stressed that only Deramas’ adoptive children, Gabriel Michael and Raphaella, have the rightful claim to his hard-earned legacy.
Mahal ko kayo nandito lang ako I love you Gabby & Raffi,” Barretto wrote.

The CA’s 15th Division upheld the ruling of the Quezon City Regional Trial Court, which denied the DNA request filed by Deramas’ siblings and nieces in relation to property and inheritance matters, including the filmmaker’s residences in Bahay Toro and Bahay Balara.
Deramas, who passed away in 2016, was behind some of the country’s most successful films and TV shows such as ‘Mula sa Puso,’ ‘Marina,’ ‘Saan Ka Man Naroroon,’ and ‘Walang Kapalit.’
