Breakout artist grentperez and beloved alt-pop duo HONNE have collaborated on a new track “folding chairs on the moon”. The smooth track is a soulful blend of dreamy vocals and a synth-driven groove. The collaboration marks an exciting meeting of grentperez’s laid back charm and HONNE’s signature atmospheric sound, delivering a track that feels intimate yet expansive at the same time.
Of the collaboration, HONNE shares, “We first reached out to grentperez back in 2022 on Instagram after discovering his music. We sent him a couple of emojis, he replied saying ‘aint no way boy’, and the rest is history. We had a feeling that it would be a lot of fun to work with him on something. So we went into our session in London with excitement, and we were right to do so. Sometimes when you collaborate with someone, it all flows so easily, and ‘folding chairs on the moon’ was a song that just fell out of the 3 of us, all in one day, and we all loved it immediately.We’re super proud of this song, so happy to be releasing it alongside our new friend, and can’t wait for everyone to hear it”.
grentperez elaborates, “We wrote ‘folding chairs on the moon’ in no time at all, say 3 hours? Writing about a sort of escape to the stars, to depart and detach from this earth to be with someone you love, alone, a ‘dream’ scenario. Safe to say we’re dreamers, HONNE and I. We ate mindblowingly good almonds from Indonesia, ordered some takeout, played some cute bitty-boopy instruments, recorded my verse and chorus and called it a day.”
