Fresh from her Best Actress win at the 7th Sinag Maynila Film Festival, Rita Daniela is making headlines not just for her acting milestone, but also for a budding romance.
The Sparkle actress, who won for her performance in ‘Madawag ang Landas Patungong Pag-asa’, was joined at the awards night by basketball player Mclaude Guadaña, whom netizens now dub her “special someone.”
Playfully acknowledging his presence during post-awards interviews, Daniela said, “Ayan siya. Nakaputi siya. Thank you, Lord, dahil after almost four years, naibigay.” When teased if this was a “hard launch,” she smiled and quipped, “May ganoon na ba ngayon?”
Daniela revealed that Guadaña had also been present at her recent 30th birthday celebration, and described him as “really supportive.” The two reportedly met almost two months ago and clicked over shared values.
“Mahirap kasing hanapin nowadays—when it comes to dating—‘yung respeto sa pamilya, ‘yung respeto sa boundaries. At ‘yung pagmamahal talaga namin kay Lord ay nandoon,” she said.

Guadaña, a former Batang Gilas standout now playing for the Lyceum Pirates, is set to return to the NCAA court next year.
Speaking with ABS-CBN News, he shared his admiration for Daniela: “Sobrang happy ako for Rita. Kanina, kinakabahan siya, pero sabi ko, para sa kanya ang gabi na ito. I’m proud of her. She deserves all the good things in this world.”
The actress, who is also a single mom to her son Uno, confirmed that she and her ex-partner are on good terms as co-parents. “I’m blessed na we are friends naman. Nagagawa namin siya nang maayos,” she said.
