Former ‘Pinoy Big Brother Otso’ housemate Lie Reposposa called out netizens who continue to make fun of Bisaya people in relationships with foreigners, after a meme comparing “successful Tagalog” and “successful Bisaya” individuals went viral on social media.

On her Facebook page, Lie shared a screenshot of the meme, which featured a photo of her and her British fiancé Paul Joshua Marsden. The post insinuated that while Tagalog people succeed through hard work, Bisaya individuals supposedly find success by dating foreigners.
Lie, who often uses humor to respond to online criticism, decided to speak up this time — mixing wit and truth in her post.
“Hindi ko na sana papatulan ‘to, pero bored ako [emoji]. FYI: Hindi Kano ang sagot sa kahirapan. Kahit alien pa jowain mo, kung wala kang diskarte sa buhay, broke ka pa rin,” she wrote.
She added a pointed remark addressing those who perpetuate stereotypes: “Bisaya man o Tagalog, pareho lang tayong Pilipino – magkaiba lang, ‘yung iba may manners, ‘yung iba may WiFi pero walang respeto.”
Lie also appealed to netizens to stop using her relationship for insensitive content.
“Nagulat ako trending na naman mukha namin. Please lang, pag pahingahin niyo na kami sa mga issue. Mind your own dishes [business],” she commented.
Despite her frustration, the singer and influencer still managed to keep her humor intact, joking about the engagement such posts generate.
“Papatol na ako ng bashers ngayon, mataas engagement eh hehe. Lab u guys, happy happy lang,” she quipped.
Lie and Paul, who got engaged in February 2023 at the age of 19, often share snippets of their relationship online. In her engagement post on Instagram, she proudly showed off her ring with the caption, “It’s a YES. Parents approved.”
