Kapuso actress and Miss World 2013 Megan Young is fully embracing her new role as a mother — stretch marks, sleepless nights, and all — after welcoming her first baby, Leon, with husband Mikael Daez last May.

In a candid interview, Megan shared how motherhood has transformed not only her body but also her definition of beauty and strength.
“I guess now I’m really embracing my stretch marks, the weight gain. I’m embracing how my body acts, looks different, and feels,” she said. “After giving birth, para mong mas minahal yung katawan mo… mas gugustuhin ko kung ano yung katawan ko ngayon, i-embrace ko siya dahil ito yung pinagdaanan niya.”
Megan admitted that, like many women, she initially struggled with body image after childbirth. But over time, she learned to appreciate her body for its resilience.
“Nakabuo ka ng isang buhay doon… admire mo yung pinagdaanan kasi ang strong strong niya. So hindi mo na gugustuhin na balikan pa yung dati mong sarili na mahina,” she added.
Motherhood has also introduced Megan to simple, joyful routines — her favorite being Leon’s evening bath time.
“Si Leon, pinapaliguan namin siya ng mga 5 or 6 p.m. and then we start the night routine para fresh na siya. I really like that, parang easing into bedtime,” she said.
After Leon falls asleep, Megan and Mikael make time for each other.
“Once na napatulog na namin [si Leon], ‘yun na ‘yung parang couple time na namin ni Mikael. We really sit down, catch a little bit up on work na sabay kami, we watch a show or anime that just came out,” she shared.
She also expressed gratitude for Mikael’s unwavering support, especially after childbirth.
“Gusto niya na ‘Okay I want you to enjoy taking care of Leon but I want you to enjoy that habang inaalagaan mo ‘yung sarili mo. Do things that you want to do. Go out, go do your workout, go shopping if you want,’” Megan recounted.
That support was tested when Mikael suffered an Achilles tendon injury that required surgery and months of recovery. Megan admitted she was worried — not just for his health, but also about how she would manage taking care of their baby.
“Unang pumasok sa isip ko na, okay lang ba siya, is he fine? May mangyayari ba sa kanya, gaano kalala ‘yung injury niya. Pangalawa doon, sino’ng tutulong sa akin mag-alaga ng baby?” she recalled.
But instead of panicking, Megan turned the situation into an opportunity to return the same care and strength Mikael had shown her.
“We talked about it and I said na at the end of the day, I’m here to support you. I’m here to help you na gumaling ka sa injury na ‘to para sabay na kayo maglakad ni Leon,” she said lovingly.

Now a proud mom and brand ambassador for Sisters Napkins and Pantyliners, Megan continues to inspire women to embrace authenticity, confidence, and compassion — both for others and for themselves.
“True sisterhood is about lifting each other up—not tearing one another down,” she said.
