Mika Salamanca speaks out against online hate: ‘Enough is enough’

Former ‘Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition’ winner Mika Salamanca took to social media to call out fans spreading negativity toward her fellow housemates, urging everyone to bring back love and respect within the fandom.

In a series of posts on her X (formerly Twitter) account, Mika expressed her disappointment over the growing hate campaigns online, especially from supporters who pit former housemates against one another.

“If you truly support me, you should know my heart by now. You know I’ll never tolerate hate, especially towards people I care about. Enough is enough,” Mika wrote.

“Can we please bring back a plaza full of love? A space where everyone can freely show support and kindness without fear or judgment. Please… stop putting chains around our necks and dictating who we should or shouldn’t be with. This comes from a place of love.”

The Sparkle artist emphasized that all the housemates from the first ‘PBB Celebrity Collab Edition’ built genuine friendships during their time inside Bahay ni Kuya, which she refuses to let social media destroy.

“Everyone in that house built a bond, a friendship… we even call it family. And I can’t just sit back and let social media destroy that beautiful connection we created,” she said.

“I hope you all find it in your hearts to show a little more compassion and kindness, even towards those you dislike. If it gives you peace, let that be enough.”

Mika’s message came amid fan speculation about her relationship with fellow ‘PBB’ housemate Dustin Yu, who has also been in the spotlight recently due to his back-to-back projects and endorsements.

Following her heartfelt post, fans praised Mika for promoting peace and maturity within the fandom. Many commended her for addressing the issue with grace and empathy, with one fan commenting, “This is why we stan Mika — classy, kind, and real.”

Meanwhile, Mika also took time to reminisce about her ‘PBB’ journey on Instagram as the new season of ‘Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0’ premiered on October 25.

“It was a wonderful journey for us, and it will be for the upcoming new housemates. I’ll forever reminisce about my days inside the PBB house. It truly was an experience you can’t get anywhere else,” she wrote.

Mika and her partner Brent Manalo were hailed as the first-ever Big Winner duo of ‘PBB: Celebrity Collab Edition’ earlier this year.
