Actress Nadine Lustre and her boyfriend Christophe Bariou have announced the temporary closure of their eco-friendly restaurant, Ver de Siargao, located in General Luna, Siargao Island.

The couple made the announcement through Ver de Siargao’s official social media page, writing: “We’re packing up the greens and heading somewhere new. Closed for a week while we fix, plant, and vibe. Reopening soon — new place, same soul.”
The post suggests that the restaurant will soon move to a new location while maintaining its signature plant-based, sustainable concept that has become popular among locals and tourists.
The announcement follows recent revelations made by Bariou, who claimed that he and Nadine had been harassed after rejecting an alleged ₱50-million extortion attempt from an unnamed individual said to be connected to a local government official.
According to Christophe, the harassment stemmed from their opposition to the Union–Malinao Bridge project, which the couple has been actively protesting alongside residents and environmental groups. They argue that the project poses a serious threat to the island’s ecosystem and local fishing livelihoods.
Fans of Nadine and supporters of the restaurant expressed concern for the couple’s safety and sent messages of encouragement online, hoping for their quick return and the reopening of Ver de Siargao in a safer, more sustainable space.
While no reopening date has been confirmed, Ver de Siargao assured its patrons that the restaurant’s essence will remain unchanged — “new place, same soul.”
