B.LEAGUE Hope ASIA HOOP FESTIVAL 2025 in BGC, Manila

The Japan Professional Basketball League (Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; Chairman: Shinji Shimada; hereinafter referred to as “B.LEAGUE”) is pleased to announce that it will host the “B.LEAGUE Hope ASIA HOOP FESTIVAL 2025 in BGC, Manila” on November 22 (Saturday) and November 23 (Sunday), 2025, at 7th Avenue in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) — the bustling center of Manila, Philippines.

This event aims to contribute to addressing social issues in the Philippines through basketball and to strengthen exchanges between Japan and the Philippines.

Last month, B.LEAGUE held community events at the Tenement’s basketball court — featuring Filipino B.LEAGUE players, basketball clinics, tournaments, and charity activities — to give back to the local community.

This time, B.LEAGUE will bring basketball to the heart of Manila, surrounded by luxury hotels and shopping malls, to further promote the league and connect with even more basketball fans in the Philippines.

■Event Details

① A Basketball Court Appears in the Middle of the City!

With the support of Grand Central Park and Mitsukoshi BGC, a special B.LEAGUE-themed basketball court will be set up on 7th Avenue in front of Mitsukoshi BGC. Various activities will take place around the court, including booths by Mitsukoshi’s tenants.

The half court to be installed for this event will be provided by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) — the national basketball federation of the Philippines.

② B.Hope ASIA Jr. Clinic and “Defense Action”

In response to the issue of physical inactivity among children in the Philippines, B.LEAGUE will host a basketball clinic that promotes physical and mental wellness, teamwork, and a spirit of challenge.

Additionally, for the first time in the Philippines, B.LEAGUE will introduce “Defense Action” — a program developed in Japan that teaches disaster preparedness through basketball.

Like Japan, the Philippines is prone to natural disasters such as earthquakes and typhoons. Through Defense Action, children will learn disaster response skills while having fun practicing dribbling, shooting, and passing — the fundamentals of basketball.

③ B.Hope ASIA 1on1 Challenge / B.Hope ASIA 3×3 Challenge

These tournaments will invite local youth (aged 18 and above) to participate in 1-on-1 and 3×3 competitions.
The 3×3 tournament will feature mixed-gender teams to promote the idea of gender equality. Through basketball, B.LEAGUE aims to showcase local talent and bring energy and smiles to the community.

④ B.Hope ASIA “Pass It Forward” (Uniform Donation Campaign)

A uniform recycling campaign “Pass It Forward” will be held at the event to promote “3R -Reduce, Reuse, Recycle”, which is important for environmental protection. The idea is to encourage people to donate their used uniforms and pass them on to the next owner. Poverty is one of the major social issues in the Philippines. The uniforms collected at this event will be donated to needy children in the Philippines who want to devote themselves to playing basketball.

*Please do not bring badly soiled, torn, unusable, etc.
