Amid public revelations involving her husband Derek Ramsay, actress Ellen Adarna turned emotional online after praising former partner John Lloyd Cruz for being a hands-on father to their son, Elias Modesto.
In a series of Instagram Stories, Adarna responded to questions from netizens following her earlier claims that Ramsay allegedly cheated during the early stage of their relationship. When asked about her current relationship with Cruz, the father of her firstborn, the actress said she has “nothing but good things” to say about him.
“With JL, wala talaga akong masabi. I have nothing but good things to say about him,” Adarna said. “We had differences in the past but I respect him because he’s a very good provider. He’s honest. And he is a very present father.”
She added that Cruz remained involved with their son even after their breakup. “Take note, noong naghiwalay kami ni JL, that was before Elias turned one year old. Present siya,” she said.
Adarna also recalled that during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Cruz chartered a private plane just to visit Elias, who was then staying in Cebu. “He would charter a private plane during COVID just to see his son,” she shared.
Her remarks prompted renewed online discussion about the former couple, with several netizens expressing surprise over her positive statements about Cruz amid her current marital controversy.
Adarna also addressed questions about Ramsay’s absence at the recent first birthday celebration of their daughter, Liana. Responding to a follower, she said Ramsay received an invitation but “chose not to go.” Only his sister and nephew attended the event, she added.
As for her living situation, Adarna confirmed she is still staying in Ramsay’s house due to ongoing renovations in her own home. “Alangan namang palayasin niya ako dito, eh nandito ‘yung anak niya sa akin,” she said, noting she intends to move out once her house is completed.
Adarna and Cruz co-parent their son Elias, while she and Ramsay married in 2021 and welcomed daughter Liana in 2023.
