Singaporean R&B-pop artists Dominic Chin, Kevin Brendan, and Gail Belmonte team up for a soulful, Afrobeats-inspired collaboration titled “ONE DAY AT A TIME” — a heartfelt ode to friendship, healing, and the beauty of finding family in the people who stay by your side through life’s highs and lows.
Having first met while working at the same company, the trio’s bond deepened over the years, eventually becoming the foundation for this warm, groove-laden anthem.
Dominic shares, “The pandemic was especially tough for me as I struggled with a particularly hard anxious episode. Kevin and Gail were there every step of the way — making me laugh, letting me cry, and reminding me that I wasn’t a burden for needing help. This song is really about that kind of love and support — the kind that helps you take life one day at a time.”
“ONE DAY AT A TIME” begins with the trio singing in unison over gentle chords, gradually blooming into an uplifting, rhythmic track that mirrors the process of healing and rediscovery. Its lyrics carry a powerful message: that friendship can be a safe space — a home — where vulnerability is met with love and compassion.
Gail reflects, “The idea of intimacy in friendships was what really fuelled the writing process. The love felt in this particular friendship is so unique in that it really took its time to grow and just like how familial bonds deepen over time, I realised I found my family in this friendship. Writing this song was just a beautiful excuse to revisit the memories forged in this friendship with the main inspiration being the genuine gratitude I have for being able to experience doing life with these humans; flaws and all.”
