Kim Chiu had a humorous but pointed response to fans who swooned over her brief interaction with ex-boyfriend Gerald Anderson during the 2025 Star Magical Christmas Gala held on November 23 at Okada Manila.
The former couple, who were both honored with the Star Magic Loyalty Award for their 20 years under the talent agency, crossed paths during the group photo session after individually receiving their trophies.
Anderson was seen approaching Chiu to greet her. However, the supposed “beso moment” was partially blocked on camera by Sam Milby, sparking curiosity and kilig among longtime KimErald fans online.
But Kim was quick to remind everyone of the reality behind their past.
“Nakakaloka yung feed ko ah. Kung makapagrelapse akala mo talaga eh di tayo niloko 15 years ago!!! Hahahahaha char not char!!!!” she wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on November 25 — a post that has since gained over a million views.
The reaction came after netizens flooded social media with nostalgic KimErald comments, reminiscing about the once-popular love team that peaked during their ‘Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition’ and early teleserye days.
Videos from the event showed that Kim and Gerald kept a respectful distance throughout the program, standing apart during the group photo—Kim beside her Linlang co-star Sam Milby, and Gerald with Jake Cuenca.
Fans of Kim and her current partner Paulo Avelino also acknowledged this, saying the actress was simply being careful not to invite speculation or misinterpretation.
The pair’s meeting became a hot topic primarily because of Kim’s previous revelation that Gerald was unfaithful during their relationship, which ended in 2010. Gerald has never publicly addressed or confirmed the issue.
Despite the brief kilig brought on by their reunion, Kim’s reaction made it clear she wasn’t romanticizing the past—nor does she want fans to.
