After stepping away from the limelight to focus on family life in Zambales, Angelica Panganiban is officially returning to showbiz through the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2025 entry ‘UnMarry.’

During the film’s press conference held at Noctos Bar, Angelica shared that her life in Zambales with her husband and daughter has been peaceful and fulfilling. But when ‘UnMarry’ was offered to her, she instantly knew she couldn’t let the opportunity pass.
Angelica revealed that in the past, she declined several projects she now regrets turning down. That’s why accepting ‘UnMarry’ was an easy decision.
Despite the long break, she said returning to acting didn’t require major adjustments. She prepared well before cameras started rolling—something she attributes to her years of experience and discipline.
Angelica also shared how her husband reacted to her return to showbiz.
According to her, he was “very supportive” and fully understood the demands of her profession.
However, Angelica admitted that she constantly worries whenever work takes her away from home for days at a time.
“Palagi akong nag-aalala sa pamilya ko lalo na kapag nawawala ako ng maraming araw dahil sa sunud-sunod na shooting,” she said.
‘UnMarry’, directed by Jeffrey Jeturian under Cineko Productions and Quantum Films, centers on the painful unraveling—and possible rebuilding—of relationships.
The movie follows Celine (Angelica), who seeks an annulment from her husband Stephen (Tom Rodriguez), along with custody of their two daughters. Meanwhile, Ivan (Zanjoe Marudo) fights to save his marriage to Maya (Solenn Heussaff) and keep his relationship with his son Elio. Their paths cross inside the law office of Atty. Jackie Lombridas (Eugene Domingo), who also runs a popular YouTube channel, ‘Walang Butas ang Batas.’
Because of a series of scheduling mishaps, Celine and Ivan repeatedly run into each other. These awkward encounters eventually lead to an unexpected friendship—one that slowly becomes a source of strength for both as they face their respective battles in court and in life.
As they help each other through heartbreak and self-discovery, a new possibility quietly emerges: Could they be each other’s second chance at love? Or will life’s circumstances pull them in different directions?

‘UnMarry’ stars Angelica Panganiban, Zanjoe Marudo, Tom Rodriguez, Eugene Domingo, and more. It premieres nationwide on December 25 as part of the 2025 Metro Manila Film Festival. (with reports from Loyd Pino)
