Actor Joross Gamboa has openly shared his belief that the world may be nearing what he describes as the “end of times,” a conviction that grew out of his deep interest in Eschatology, or the study of the end of the world in Christian doctrine.

In an interview with Toni Gonzaga on her online talk show ‘Toni Talks’, Gamboa explained why he became fascinated with the concept of the end of humanity and the second coming of Jesus Christ.
“Bakit ka na-fascinate sa end of times?” Gonzaga asked.
“Kasi naniniwala ako malapit na,” Gamboa replied. “I mean, for example, nasaksihan ko ‘yong simula ng pagkatuyo ng Euphrates River, ‘yong mga prophecy.”
He added that current events and scripture often align for him. “Kapag nanonood ka ng news, tapos nagbabasa ka ng Bible, nagiging align,” he said.
Gamboa shared that his interest in Eschatology began in 2023 and has continued to deepen since then. According to him, the journey led him to consume religious discussions and study the Bible more closely, including through audiobooks.
“Do’n ako napunta tapos nagkaroon ako ng mga pinapakinggan. Natuto akong magbasa ng Bible [sa pamamagitan ng audio book]. Una, makikinig lang ako. Tapos kung ano ‘yong dini-discuss, dine-discern ko na,” he explained.
As he continued studying scripture, Gamboa said he gained a clearer understanding of his faith and life purpose. “No’ng nagbasa ako nang nagbasa ako ng Bible, mas parang naintindihan ko na ‘yong Gospel, dahan-dahan naintindihan ko na kung paano ako na-save. Mas naintindihan ko na ‘yong purpose [ko sa buhay],” he added.

Earlier this year, Gamboa also marked a personal milestone when he graduated with a degree in AB Biblical Studies from Global Life University (GLU) in June 2025, further reflecting his commitment to theological studies alongside his acting career.
