Showbiz insider and talent manager Ogie Diaz has weighed in on the viral incident involving former Commission on Elections (Comelec) Commissioner Atty. Rowena Guanzon, after she was caught on video loudly confronting a man inside a Makati mall.

In a Facebook MyDay on Tuesday, December 9, Diaz said he could not understand why the name of Sen. Risa Hontiveros was suddenly being pulled into the controversy.
“Di ko gets kumbakit damay si Sen. [Risa Hontiveros] sa galit ni Atty. Guanzon. Nagsimula lang ’yan sa talakan sa Powerplant, ha? At sunod-sunod na ang mga banat ng mga troll kay Sen. Risa,” Ogie shared.
He then raised the possibility that online attacks against Hontiveros may be politically motivated ahead of the next elections.
“Threat ba siya sa 2026 para pagkaisahan siya, kaya may instructions na ‘Risa-nin n’yo ang 2028’ at ‘Risa, dalawa, tatlong banat kay Risa para di na tumakbo?’” he added..
The latest wave of reaction appeared to stem from a post by former Presidential Adviser for Political Affairs Ronald Llamas, who made a tongue-in-cheek remark about Guanzon.
“Bumaba na naman self-esteem ko,” ani Llamas sa isang Facebook post. “Wala ako Rolex saka Gucci, e.”
Guanzon replied in another Facebook post, sharing a screenshot of Llamas’ comment and writing: “Okay lang ’yan pogi ka naman. Naging kayo nga ni ano ’di ba?”
Hontiveros has long been rumored to have a special relationship with Llamas due to their close friendship, a speculation she already denied in a 2013 interview with broadcast journalist Karen Davila.
Lawyer Jesus Falcis also weighed in on the controversy, criticizing Guanzon’s remarks and how they have dragged Hontiveros into the conversation.
“DDS Rowena Guanzon is a disgusting person — she’s slut-shaming and attacking Risa Hontiveros with the same playbook they used against Leila de Lima and Leni Robredo,” he said.
He accused Guanzon of spreading baseless insinuations: “Without proof, she’s spreading gossip and innuendo about Risa’s love life… Onting research lang, Madam Matapobre.”
As of this writing, Hontiveros has not issued any public statement on the matter, while online discussions continue to swirl around both the mall incident and the renewed political intrigue surrounding the senator’s name.
