Star Magic kicked off December with another ‘Spotlight Presscon’, this time introducing two of showbiz’s newest and most promising faces: Robbie Jaworski and Angelina Cruz.

Both are showbiz royalty—Robbie is the son of Mikee Cojuangco and Dodot Jaworski, while Angelina is the daughter of Sunshine Cruz and Cesar Montano—but despite their lineage, the two are carving their own paths as actors. Their latest project, the hit Amazon Prime Video series ‘The Alibi,’ marks a major milestone in their young careers.
Now part of one of today’s most talked-about series, Robbie and Angelina reflected on how their expectations of showbiz evolved once they stepped into it.
Robbie admitted that he had a simplified view of the craft before experiencing it firsthand.
“A lot of realizations tungkol sa proseso ng trabaho. Initially, I thought acting and hosting was about being quick—mabilis mag-isip, but it’s a lot more than that. It takes a lot of preparation—in mind, in body; it’s a whole package,” he said.
For Angelina, filming the series was a wake-up call.
“I expected it to be the same as filming a movie because I filmed a movie na with DonBelle before, and I found it very chill. But filming a serye, ‘The Alibi,’ is very different—it can be very fast-paced,” she explained.

In ‘The Alibi’, Robbie and Angelina portray the younger siblings of Paolo Avelino and Kim Chiu’s characters—and eventually, love interests. Their characters’ social backgrounds are complete opposites, which adds tension and texture to their storyline.
Robbie plays Edward Cabrera, the younger son of a wealthy and influential family.
He shared that his portrayal drew inspiration from his own upbringing: “I used a lot of inspiration actually from my personal life… Yung upbringing ni Edward is he’s the nepo baby na may trabaho sa pamilya niya. His family has a hotel, and he became the manager of it. It really helped, yung balance of being humbled enough to know na wala ka masyadong alam sa buhay mo.”
Angelina plays Katherine Morales, Kim’s younger sister from a simpler, humbler background. To connect with her character, she tapped into her own experiences as a sibling.
“I really had to dig deep into Katherine’s character and find elements where I could resonate with. Yung pagiging overprotective niya sa family niya, having a sister that she loves so much—I have two sisters,” she shared.
Outside acting, both young stars nurture different creative passions. Robbie is a regular MYX VJ and continues to take on hosting gigs. Angelina, meanwhile, has a strong passion for music, something she continues to develop alongside her acting career.
‘The Alibi’ is expected to open even bigger doors for both stars. For Angelina, this is the start of a journey she’s eager to pursue fully: “As of now, my focus is really acting and working on that… I want to try acting.”
Robbie, meanwhile, is embracing what he describes as the secret to longevity in the industry: “You can truly succeed in it if you enjoy it.”
