Despite their well-documented family rifts, Claudine Barretto shared that the Barretto siblings came together in unity and peace following the death of their mother, Inday Barretto, fondly known as Mommy Inday.

The Barretto matriarch passed away on Thursday, January 29. Soon after the news broke, messages of condolence poured in for Claudine and her sisters Gretchen Barretto and Marjorie Barretto, as well as for the rest of the Barretto family.

In a Facebook post that many netizens described as heartfelt and reassuring, Claudine acknowledged the complicated history within their family but emphasized that grief brought them together.

“To my brother & all my sisters thank you Magulo man po kami but in grief we are all united. We all did our part. JJ, Michie, Gia, G, Marjorie & all the apos pati apo sa tuhod. Pantay pantay inalagaan ang mommy. We choose Peace over everything,” Claudine wrote.

Her message struck a chord with followers, many of whom noted how rare and comforting it was to see the Barretto siblings presented as united, even amid long-standing issues.

Claudine also asked the public to offer prayers instead of flowers, underscoring the family’s focus on quiet reflection and faith during the difficult time.

“We don’t need flowers. Your prayers all mean the world to each & everyone of us. Maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat,” she added.

In another emotional post, Claudine addressed her late mother directly, assuring her that the family would endure the loss together.

“Mommy we’re gonna be okay. I promise!”

She closed her tribute by honoring her mother’s strength and legacy as a parent.

“We are Inday Barretto’s children. The strongest, most loving mother anyone could ask for.”

Mommy Inday Barretto was 89 years old at the time of her passing. As of writing, the family has not publicly disclosed the cause of death.
