Actress Maris Racal closed 2025 on a high note, marking a strong career resurgence a year after being embroiled in controversy involving her co-star Anthony Jennings.

Taking to Instagram, Racal reflected on her productive year and expressed gratitude for the projects she released in 2025. “We launched 4 roles this year. What a year. Always grateful, universe!” she wrote, alongside photos highlighting her work throughout the year.
One of the biggest milestones in Racal’s career was the film ‘Sunshine’, where she portrayed a competitive gymnast. The film earned international recognition after winning the Crystal Bear for Best Film at the Berlin International Film Festival, further cementing Racal’s standing as a serious actress. She previously shared that she trained for a year to prepare for the physically demanding role, calling the project a transformative experience.
Racal also gained attention for her performance as Gab in the action series ‘Incognito’, which aired from January to July 2025. The series starred an ensemble cast that included Richard Gutierrez, Daniel Padilla, Ian Veneracion, Kaila Estrada, Baron Geisler, and Jennings. Her role in the show showcased a more intense and action-oriented side of the actress.
Earlier in the year, Racal headlined the Netflix film ‘Sosyal Climbers’ alongside Jennings. Released in February, the movie followed two debt-ridden aspirants who create elaborate fake identities to infiltrate high society, adding another genre to Racal’s growing body of work.

In September, Racal joined the long-running primetime series ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’, playing the character Ponggay. She described joining the show as a dream come true, particularly the opportunity to work with Coco Martin, and said she was grateful to be part of a series that has remained strong for years.
