Netizens have called out Marikina 2nd District Rep. Miro Quimbo for promoting on his social media account a school building outside of his congressional district.

Facebook group Marikina Against Qorruption expressed concern that Quimbo has been publicly posting and taking credit for the Marikina Science High School Building project despite the absence of clear permits and without clarity on land ownership, where the school building is supposed to be constructed.
“Pinapasok ang hindi nya distrito! Pinopost na ni Miro kahit wala pang permit! ni hindi nya man lang tinignan kung kanino ang lupa!” the group said.
Based on initial information, the school building will be erected at Juan Chanyungco St. in Barangay Sta Elena, which is located in District 1.
At the same time, the group reminded the public of the reduction in the DepEd fund in the 2025 national budget, pointing out that Miro’s wife, former Marikina 2nd District Rep. Stella Quimbo served as Senior Committee Vice Chair during the deliberations.
“Hindi namin nakakalimutan ang ginawang pagcut ng budget sa DepEd budget 2025 na ang Senior Committee Vice Chair ay si Stella Quimbo!,” the post said.
The Marikina Science High School is located within the same campus as the Marikina Polytechnic College (MPC).
It can be recalled that Stella Quimbo earmarked P950 million for the construction of MPC’s “Smart Campus.”
The project was bid out to Sunwest Construction and Development Corporation, a company linked to former Ako Bicol Party-list Rep. Zaldy Co.
