It appears that things are now back on good terms between Vice Ganda and Viva Films, following the comedian’s viral remarks on ‘It’s Showtime’ earlier this week.

During the January 3 episode of the noontime show, Vice made a brief but noticeable announcement before the program ended, thanking those who sent flowers after his recent achievement.
“Special announcement! Maraming salamat po sa lahat ng nagpadala ng bulaklak sa akin. Maraming maraming salamat po sa mga humabol at nagpadala ng bulaklak sa akin,” Vice said.
While Vice did not mention any company by name during the episode, sources familiar with the situation said the flowers reportedly came from Viva Films. This came after Vice previously expressed disappointment over the film outfit’s alleged silence following his Best Actor win at the Metro Manila Film Festival.
Earlier, Vice went viral after throwing shade at Viva Films during ‘It’s Showtime’, where he publicly thanked Star Cinema while calling out Viva for not sending flowers despite being a co-producer of his MMFF film ‘Call Me Mother’, which also stars Nadine Lustre.
“Sa Star Cinema, maraming salamat. Sa Viva Films na hindi man lang nagpadala ng bulaklak, maraming salamat na rin po,” Vice said on air. “Oo… wala man lang anything. Kumubra na lang,” he added, drawing laughter from the audience.
A source close to the Unkabogable Star shared that Vice did feel hurt by Viva’s lack of acknowledgment after his Best Actor win. Despite the tension, insiders believe that Vic del Rosario, the head of Viva Films, was quick to act after Vice’s remarks. A separate source confirmed that Viva eventually sent flowers to Vice, seemingly addressing the issue.
Vice’s comments sparked mixed reactions online. Many fans supported the comedian, saying the callout was justified. Others, however, felt the remark was unnecessary.
As of this writing, Viva Films has not issued an official statement regarding the issue.
