Photos from Dustin Yu and Bianca de Vera’s Thailand vacation resurfaced on social media after Yu shared them as a birthday greeting for de Vera—promptly reigniting online discussion and fandom tensions.

The images, taken during the pair’s Thailand trip in December, showed relaxed beach moments and candid snapshots that many netizens described as natural and comfortable. Fans noted the easy chemistry between the two, with several calling the photos “worth the wait,” especially since they were released only now, timed with Bianca’s birthday.
For supporters, the post felt like a quiet yet meaningful celebration—simple, personal, and full of warmth. Comments on social media were largely positive, with many sending birthday wishes and expressing “kilig” over the long-unseen vacation shots.
However, the release of the photos also reopened a months-long fandom issue tied to the same Thailand trip. The vacation previously became controversial after alleged sightings of Dustin and Bianca abroad circulated online, triggering heated debates between supporters of different love teams.
Bianca is part of the popular pairing WillCa with actor Will Ashley, while Dustin and Bianca are collectively known as DustBia. All three actors starred as lead cast members in the Metro Manila Film Festival 2025 entry ‘Love You So Bad’, which is currently showing in cinemas.
Last January 8, the hashtag “WILLCAm to the final show” trended on X (formerly Twitter). Posts under the thread carried farewell tones from some WillCa fans, who expressed sadness and regret over what they perceived as a fading onscreen pairing. While many shared fond memories of WillCa, others emphasized continued support for Will, even as several fan account administrators announced temporary breaks from managing their pages.
The exact reason behind the emotional response from some WillCa fans remains unclear. Still, online speculation suggests it may be linked to the growing attention surrounding Bianca and Dustin’s offscreen closeness.
Prior to the release of the birthday post, netizens had pieced together supposed evidence of Dustin and Bianca’s Thailand trip. This included Dustin’s selfie featuring a city skyline believed to be in Thailand, Bianca’s photos allegedly taken at a floating market, and a circulating image and video of a masked couple at an airport immigration area wearing outfits similar to those seen in the actors’ respective posts.
Fueling the discussion further was a viral clip from a past interview involving Dustin and Bianca during ‘PBB Celebrity Collab’. In the video—reposted by a netizen and viewed over five million times as of 4:05 p.m.—Bianca spoke about how much she appreciated Dustin, saying he was the person who stayed with her “through thick and thin” inside the Pinoy Big Brother house.
Bianca also acknowledged that she and Dustin had bashers who often tried to dictate what they wanted for her. She reassured Dustin that he would always be her choice as her final duo in ‘PBB’, adding that she never regretted choosing him, even though they did not make it to the Big Four.
Some netizens interpreted these statements as Bianca choosing Dustin over Will, which disappointed certain WillCa shippers. Others questioned whether Bianca’s mention of “bashers” was directed at WillCa supporters—something she did not explicitly state.
As of now, neither Dustin nor Bianca has addressed the renewed controversy directly.
