The lead stars of ‘Almost Us’, JM Ibarra and Fyang Smith, are receiving high praise from the film’s producer and screenwriter as production moves forward.

Producer Antoinette Jadaone took to Instagram Stories to commend the pair’s performances on set.
“Ma, ang husay nila??? At parehong may comic timing??? (usually kasi just 1 of 2 ang meron ihhh),” Jadaone wrote.
She admitted that she initially had limited expectations for the two but was pleasantly surprised by what they delivered.
“Tapos nung kailangan na ng vulnerability, binigay din??? I’ll be the first to admit, wala ako masyadong expectations nung una, but always to be surprised by magic on set! Salamat @_iamsofiasmith @jmdibarra. Lezgo Day 3 @danvillegas!!!”
Jadaone also praised their consistency in performance, noting her background in script continuity.
“PS. at ang galing nila sa continuity nila??? As a former scriptcon (script continuity), I appreciate this sa actors talaga.”
Meanwhile, the film’s writer Miguel Sevilla shared a screenshot of his late-night conversation with Smith, showing the actress offering suggestions for her character’s dialogue ahead of the next day’s shoot.
“As a screenwriter, you dream of working with actors like this. Texting you near midnight to talk about dialogue for next day’s shoot. Above and beyond. Love you guys @_iamsofiasmith @jmdibarra,” Sevilla wrote.
Almost Us marks the first solo film project of the JM-Fyang pairing following their stint on Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11.
The film is directed by Dan Villegas and produced by Regal Entertainment Inc. in collaboration with Project 8 Projects and Lunchbox.
‘Almost Us’ is set to premiere in cinemas on May 6.
