Actor Alvin Aragon stirred fresh controversy after posting a new social media message criticizing the LGBTQIA+ community and calling for the removal of a television program hosted by a personality he referred to as the “King of Talk.”

Although Aragon did not explicitly name anyone, many netizens believe he was referring to veteran host Boy Abunda and his talk show.
In a Facebook post addressed to “Maam Annette,” whom netizens speculated to be GMA Network executive Annette Gozon-Valdes, Aragon urged management to take action.
“Maam Annette, Ang king of talk ang dapat inaalisan ng show at ang writer ng show. Kasi he uses, they uses this platform to encouraged and influenced Filipino people especially Filipino parents,” Aragon wrote.
He went on to criticize what he perceives as messaging about LGBTQIA+ identities.
“Gusto nila palabasin na Ok lang, Na walang masama ang maging bakla, maging tomboy, maging trans at maging queer. Maam annette alam natin na kasalanan yan sa Mata ng King of kings natin,” he added.
Aragon further emphasized his stance in the same post.
“Stop propagating Sin of homosexuality because it is against the Lord Jesus,” he said.
The actor’s remarks drew attention online, with many users linking his statements to Abunda, who previously addressed Aragon’s earlier comments about homosexuality.
In a prior response, Abunda pushed back against imposing beliefs on others.
“Alvin, you cannot impose your faith. You cannot impose your parenting style. You cannot impose yourself on us. Walang puwedeng magsabi sa amin, not you, not anyone. Kung iba ang iyong paniniwala, iba ang iyong faith, sobra ang paggalang ko sa ’yo,” Abunda said.
He also shared his personal belief about faith and acceptance.
“Pupunta ba ako sa impiyerno because I am gay? At pupunta ba ang mga magulang na yumayakap sa kanilang mga anak with love and dignity? Hindi kami pupunta ng impiyerno because ako, I believe in a God who’s kind, I believe in a God who’s compassionate, I believe in a God who is all understanding, I believe in a God na makikita ang aking kalooban…”
Quoting St. John of the Cross, Abunda added, “‘in the evening of life we will all be judged on love and love alone.’”
As of writing, Abunda has yet to issue a new statement regarding Aragon’s latest post.
Aragon previously appeared on Abunda’s talk show alongside his wife, former SexBomb Girls member Izzy Trazona, in February.
