Veteran actor and TV host Edu Manzano brought humor to social media amid growing concerns over rising fuel prices and tensions in the Middle East.

In a recent post, Manzano jokingly bragged about visiting a gas station—framing it as if it were an expensive destination.
“Hindi ko ugaling magyabang sa mga mamahaling lugar na napupuntahan ko pero kanina galing nga pala ako sa gasolinahan,” he wrote.
The witty remark quickly amused many netizens, who flooded the comment section with humorous reactions.
Some online users joked that visiting a gas station now feels like a luxury, especially with the expected increase in fuel prices.
Manzano’s quip came as the government warned about a possible sharp increase in petroleum prices in the country.
According to Sharon Garin, fuel prices may increase by ₱17 to ₱24 per liter starting this week.
Garin explained during a House Committee on Ways and Means hearing on March 9, 2026 that oil firms had reported a sudden spike in petroleum prices.
The increase has been linked to escalating geopolitical tensions involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, which have affected global oil supply and pricing.
